Agreed. What I've also noticed is that while in past years Amazon often offered the lowest price on items, that situation has reversed, and prices on Amazon are mostly higher then those on truly independent sites.
Thanks for documenting the reasons I try to explain why I will not shop or purchase on Amozon. I receintly sought to purchhase an item on line direct from the sellers web page. Payment was directed to Amozon for shipment. I closed the page and spent weeks unsucribing from Amazon emails. Bought the item from a local store. Buy local with cash is almost the best plan as the merchant gets the full purchase price including the credit card hidden fee. If the item purchased in the store needs to be shipped ask if it comes from Amazon distribution. Expect a yes or dont know response.
